When I was young, often I heard my mom complained about her headaches, the complains were frequent then became like regular statements for me. Years later, I've found myself in her shoes. Whether this headache thingy is genetically runs in family or just coincidentally happening to me?!. Don't have it everyday so it shouldn't be a problem then, or so I thought so until about 2 years ago after my trip to Australia, I got hospitalized in RSIB for a tremendous headache, for 4 days !. Then, as the doctors came up with a diagnose that probably I got it because apparently I have sinusitis problem...ouch, which I never knew I had it!. They've done MRI and CT Scan on me to ensure me about this.
As I quote from Mayo Clinic;
If you get frequent headaches, it's likely to be a tension-type headache. They account for 75-90 percent of frequent headaches.
Currently after being treated in inhalation procedure for my sinusitis, I felt much better. The situation is not last longer than I was expected. A year later these headaches regularly came especially during my PMS period or during wet season (rainy season).
But I might as well adding my headaches caused by my stress or tension.
As today, I woke up in early morning because I have a headache, how bizarre..I went asleep last night without a single headache then woke up because of one...a seriously annoying one. I shouldn't go to work today but no..I went instead, biggest mistake of today, along the way, the sun was shining with the heat i couldn't bare. Then in the office, every single sound seems torching my head, and look a bit blurred. I took my hubby's advice to drink up a nice cup of tea, it was pretty healing...for a while, then again it started all over again. I drank 2 pcs of panadol, the strongest kind ones..nope, zit.
I googled to find out what has caused my headache (or in generally caused a headache), and found a good article bout it :
I am pretty sure what has caused (mostly) of my headache were point number : 1,2, 6, 8, 10,15 and 18.
- Stress
- Not enough sleep
- Certain foods and food additives, such as chocolate, cheese, caffeine and monosodium glutamate (MSG).
- Grinding your teeth
- Depression and anxiety
- Skipping meals
- Poor posture
- Lack of exercise
- Holding your head or neck in an awkward position for a long time
- Hormonal changes related to menstruation (PMS), menopause, pregnancy or hormone use
- Medications, including those for depression and high blood pressure, or overusing headache medication
- Overexerting yourself
- Sleeping in an awkward position
- Eye strain
- Fatigue
- Smoking
- Alcohol
- Sinus infections, colds or flu
Well, still haven't figured out what to do with these never ending headache but I'll be in touch with the doctor ASAP.
